1) What data we collect

A) Location data (optional)

• What: Your approximate location from iOS “Location Services” (when you allow it).
• When: Only while you use the app (When‑In‑Use).
• Why: To support “near me” searches, show nearby results, and compute walking routes.

You can use CityScout AI without sharing GPS by searching by place name (e.g., “close to EPFL”).

B) Analytics & diagnostics (Firebase)

CityScout AI uses Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics (Google) to understand app usage and improve stability.

• Firebase Analytics may collect:
• App interactions and usage events (e.g., app open, search action, tapping a result)
• Device information such as device model, OS version, app version
• Approximate region (derived by Firebase from IP for analytics; we do not directly receive your IP)
